A group of mercenary samurai save a town from marauders. With over three hours of non-stop action, Seven Samurai, directed by Akira Kurosawa, is a masterful epic on violence and its role in human existence. The film revitalized the American Western, and was remade in 1960 as The Magnificent Seven.

Both editions contain audio commentary by Japanese film expert Michael Jeck.
