During the Nazi occupation of France, a troupe of actors led by Gerard Depardieu and Catherine Deneuve hide a Jewish director in the basement of their Parisian theater. Directed by Francois Truffaut, The Last Metro was voted by French film critics as the best film of the 1980s.

This exclusive laserdisc edition offers the original theatrical trailer and more accurate subtitles. Criterion worked closely with Last Metro cinematographer Nestor Almendros on this widescreen transfer, accurately reproducing the film's intended reddish hues.
