When torpedoes down a British ship, a captain and his crew members cling to a liferaft. This
documentary-style drama features moving performances by Noel Coward, Celia Johnson, and John Mills, and marked
the historic beginning of Coward's fruitful partnership with David Lean.
In Which We Serve was transfered from a 35mm duplicate negative. The sound was
mastered from a 35mm optical sound print. Note: In Which We Serve incorporates actual wartime naval
combat footage. In order to preserve its original look, this footage was not digitally enhanced in
Criterion's new transfer.
