Vom britischen Label Arrow Films hatte man länger nichts mehr gehört. Im März 2010 werden jedoch zwei interessante “Special Editions” erscheinen, allerdings nur auf DVD und nicht auf Blu-ray. Der Rossellini-Film ist im Januar dieses Jahres bei Criterion in einem Box-Set veröffentlicht worden. In Deutschland ist er innerhalb eines DVD-Sets mit Rossellini-Filmen bei Koch Media erhältlich, allerdings in schlechter Qualität.
“Johnny zieht in den Krieg” wurde bereits im April 2009 in den USA als “Special Edition”-DVD aufgelegt. In Deutschland hält Kinowelt die Rechte an dem Film.
