Martin Scorsese war immer ein großer Fan von Michael Powells und Emeric Pressburgers "Die roten Schuhe / The Red Shoes" [GB 1948] und betont auch noch einmal im Interview auf der "The River"-DVD von Criterion, daß "The Red Shoes" neben "The River" der Film mit der schönsten Farbfotografie sei.

Epix veröffentlciht den Film am 22. April 2005 endlich in Deutschland. Die Infos sind bei Cinefacts zu finden.
